Wheels day

Today we had a wheels day. It was fun. I tried a lot of new equipment. Dylan's go cart was an awesome. You have a piece of string and you pull a side that you want to turn.Some one has to push you.  The course went around the school past Hotumauea and the library, behind the middle classes and back to the start. We all had fun.

Reflection on my term there's learning

This term I was year four leader. It was an challenging experience but it taught me a lot about communicating with others.

Speeches

I got to read my speech to the middle syndicate in the semi finals for the speech competition and guess what I got through. Awesome I am so proud of myself. It was an awesome experience for me.

Reflecting on my work,

If I'm stuck with my learning what should I do?. Well here is your answer. In the classroom go to a friend, to the teacher. Outside sort it out by yourself, ask a friend or get a duty teacher

My learning goal

I bet you have been wondering what my learning goal is. Well here is your answer. My learning goal in writing was to spell my basic words correctly . I have achieved that goal. My next goal is to write neater and slow down. For my reading  my goal was exploring graphic novels. I have achieved that goal. My new goal is to think about my questions in reading. In maths my goal is to use my division skills in measurement problems.

Speeches

My speech is on snow skiing. I hope I get into the finals it would be a good achievement for myself. I think my writing is very interesting

Cricket

Today  we played some cricket with Mitchell from NZ cricket.First we played snowball tag to warm up. Then we had to throw the ball up in the air and clap. Then we played a game. There were 2 teams one teams the batter ones the fielder. It was cool

Why is learning important?

Learning is important because it help you understand the way of understanding things that you don't know. For example if you don't learn fractions you won't be able to cook.

Cross Country Training

Yesterday I ran butterfly. Witch is were you have to run down the middle without stopping and then choose a side the fast side or the slow side. I ran 7 laps

Healthy Eating

Yesterday Mike came into room 10 about Healthy breakfast it was interesting. did you know that Weetbix is low in  Fat and sugar and High in fibre. This is one of the healthiest breakfast you can ever have.Some of the sometimes Breakfasts are Ricebubbles and others. Never have no breakfast

Perseverence

Perseverance

Today I am here to tell you about Perseverance. Perseverance means keep trying, never give up and all those other encouraging  words. Almost everybody in the world shows perseverance from you and me to Sir Edmund Hillary. Right lets move on to how I show perseverance. This is about the time I persevered in swimming. I started of in level 4 and I wanted to move into level 5 so do you know what I did. I kept trying and trying and finally I got my report and guess what it said I was in level 5.  This showed me that you need to stick at something and keep working hard and you might achieve your goal.

Reflection on my term two's learning

This term I enjoyed reading The bridge to Terabitha. It was challenging but interesting. I think I learned a lot of new words like cuss ( swear)  anxiety ( worry) and lots more.






What part of my learning did I find difficult and challenging you ask. I found building bridges challenging. The most challenging part was when we had to hot glue gun the glad wrap rolls to the wood. Threading the wire was also difficult.


Next term I want to learn my percentages. Why because we have them in our basic facts stage 6 sheet and I want to master the basic facts stage 6 sheet

Mauri language week

Ki Ora (hello) this week is Maori language week and it is the end of the Matariki  (Maori new year). Did you know that Matariki means tiny eyes. I have been learning about some new words like awe rawe (awesome) marama (moon) and others. If you would like to hear more come to room 10 and I will show you were I learnt them.

Writing/Reading

I have been reading my Hotumauea story  to room 4 and room 2. I love doing this because they always give me good advice and really nice comments. Also I love setting good examples and being a role model.  It gives the little Juniors imagination in how they can write good stories.

Writing

 Today I have started a story about two families that both believe in different things. One family believes that fitness is the best and one believes that watching T.V. is better. This is a story that will help you understand that you should do your fitness before you relax and watch T.V.

The Bridge to Terabithia

For the last couple of weeks the shooting stars have been reading  The bridge to Terabithia. I am up to chapter 8 called Easter. Each chapter we read we have questions and vocabulary.I will tell you about The Bridge to Terabithia.The main character's are Jess,Leslie Burke and Prince Terrien (a puppy). They have invented Terabithia a sacred place. Only the two of them know about it.
My favourite part so far is when Jess gives Leslie Prince Terrien . I think this story is challenging my thinking because we have to answer tricky questions, find the meaning of new vocabulary and we have some enrichment activities to do.

Bridge Walk

Today I went on a trip to see lots of things including bridges, the Rangiriri steam boat and Te Winaka(waka) in the museum.

1. We saw the Rangiriri steam boat
2. We went to see Te Winaka at the museum
3. We stopped at the Victoria bridge and ate morning tea. We sketched the bridge too.
4. We walked back to school along the river track. We sketched the Claudelands, Whitiora and Fairfield bridge 

                The worst part was walking all the way back to school.

                The interesting part was when I  learned new facts

Yesterday was room 10 assembly. I was the story teller for the play we did. It was about our river walk. We showed our bridges with power points. We showed a photo peach too.

How awesome is that I got a lots of claps that day.

School

My school is awesome  and so is my teacher. My favourite thing at school is reading it is awesome and totally cool. I love my I.C.T

Sports

There are some people from Canda,U.S.A and Te Awamutu. They are here to play new and fascinating games. My favourite person is MAXZINE she is fun, awesome and the best. I don't want them to go home.

Learn-a-thon

In the last week the whole school have been have been learn-a-thon questions to answer. There have been some really easy questions and some really hard questions. I haven't got any wrong yet!!!!!!
I must be really smart thanks to the computer and my brain and mum's brain.

Kite Reviews

The shooting stars did a kite reviews on a chapter book we had read. I did the secret of Bunrtty castle it was a cool book. We got a kite shape and we had to write the characters and the synopsis and our favorite part. Here is a picture my kite reviews

Decimals

Today and the last couple of days I learned decimals with the hexagons group. .We use the deci-pipes. I don't know lots of decimals but it is so cool to learn something new.I would like to learn how to add and subtract decimals because you need to know that so that you can add up money. This photo shows how I made`2.45 on the deci- pipes. That mean 2 wholes, 4 tenths and 5 hundredths.

My Holiday

In the holidays I went to lots of different places. I had only one day's break. All the rest were jam packed. I went to Hot Water Beach. It was hot when you put your feet in the water for a long time. I went to the movies and I saw Rio. What a cool holiday I had.

Star of the day

I was star of the day on Tuesday. It's where people get to sit on a chair. It was cool

Today room10 did flax cutting. Mrs.Anderson showed us the correct way to do this. You have to cut the longest leaves because you have to leave the others ones to grow. Then we plaited the flax.It wasn't easy.We also had to take notes with our notebook.It was awesome.
